  1. split jerk: 115-135-155-175(fail)-165(felt good)...10# makes a huge difference. 165 is close to my normal split jerk max.

WOD @ 135#: 4:57...6 push press followed by sets of 2 split/push jerks from there on out. too many cleans. burpees broken into 10-10-5-5-5-5

  2. Split jerk: ended at 105#. Pressing out, not dropping fast/low enough.

Metcon: 5:27 @ 95#. Similar splits to Tom, and too many cleans indeed.

  3. Quit on the 1rm behind the head push jerk at 185#, gotta be honest, do not feel safe bailing on a failed rep from behind the head at all.

WOD RX with the pull up bar burpee touch: 5:04.

Significant improvment over last week with the heavy overhead in terms of re-catching it on the way back down to the rack position, did pretty well at that as opposed to getting absolutely crushed last week. 1 week and done on the suck list, gotta be happy with that.

  4. @ drywall, yeah, my last 10 or so burpees were definitely not at construct standards. did jenn freak you out after her run-in with a failed rep this AM?

  5. @Dr. Tom - To be frank, at my height hitting the bar doesn't really require much of a jump, so probably none of mine were of the intended "Construct" standard.

Jenn went out of town on business this afternoon...let me guess she got a rep taken away and started swearing up a storm? She and Derek should have a swear-off.

  6. @Tom: Not many are used to bailing with the bar behind the neck since its not called for very often. Something everyone should learn, seeing as to how often we do back squats.

    Got up to 185#

Metcon as Rx'd w/ bar touch burpes: 5:01
Killer race with James on this one.

  7. Did Yesterday's workout. 285 on the DLs felt good. it's a bit shy of 80% of my 1RM.

Did the metcon with 185# power cleans.

    4 rounds + 3 PC

was a mistake. heavy as shit. tore 4 calluses off the first round. no blood...just lost the calluses. They were probably meant to be gone anyway.

Havent been in since last wednesday. felt good to take almost a week off. Although i was fucking murdering beers in a flip cup tourney....so not really quality rest.

  8. @JA - It isn't the same as bailing on a back squat. Letting is roll off your back feels natural. Bailing on something that is somewhere around your head level from behind when you've always bailed forward just feels funny. Even after practicing at a light weight, I still bailed forward when I was over 200# because that's what I've always done, and I could have taken my head off. It is a useless lift anyway.
